24-26th July 2012 The New Forest and Hampshire County Show

A magnificent show, held at the New Park Showground, just outside Brockenhurst, and literally a ‘stones throw’ away from us at the Balmer Lawn Hotel.  There is a vast array of sights and sounds and activities to suit all tastes and ages. The show attracts, on average 95,000 visitors every year bringing together a celebration of many traditional country pursuits, crafts, produce and entertainment.

11th- 18th August 2012 Cowes Week, Isle Of Wight

Cowes week plays a major part in the British summer sailing calendar and is one of the UK’s longest running and most successful sporting events. It holds up to 40 races per day, for around 1,000 boats with sailors of every standard from novice to World Champions. It is the largest sailing regatta of its kind in the world. The event is held on the Solent, in between the south of England and the Isle of Wight.

18th - 20th July 2012 - The Truly Magnificent J Class Yachts Racing In The Solent

The Solent Regatta will be hosted by The Royal Southampton Yacht Club (RSYC). The Solent was the traditional home of J Class racing in the UK during the 1930s. Three races are planned, one starting in the Western Solent and around Christchurch Bay. One starting in the eastern Solent and into Hayling Bay, and a third in the central Solent.

The UK's leading outdoor Boat Show provides a celebration of everything to do with boating. There are all sorts of activities and experiences, both on and off the water, for a fun-filled day out for boat enthusiasts, trade and the whole family.

You can take a tour on some of the amazing boats on display, and also book a trip on a speedboat . There are numerous exhibitors at the Boat Show, consisting largely of boat builders, boat owners, chandlers and other sailing companies showcasing their new products. It is a fantastic day out for all ages.

Why not let the train take the strain to get you there with a direct line to Southampton Central station from Brockenhurst station with numerous trains throughout the period!
