The Forestry Commission runs a number of events throughout the year. These range from specialist events such as deer watching, access events for the less able and short 4 mile walks to 10 mile rambles.

Retail therapy

The beautiful New Forest Villages of Brockenhurst, Burley, Beaulieu, Lymington and Lyndhurst offer a wide range of individual shops for all tastes.

The larger centres of Bournemouth, Southampton, Winchester and Salisbury offer a greater, more comprehensive, range of facilities.

Brockenhurst's quaint high street is located a short walk from the hotel and has a variety of shops, whilst Burley is a short  drive away and is famous for it's Witchy past.

There are stately homes and museums at Beaulieu, Romsey, Breamore and the Isle of Wight with many more within a short drive away.

Brokenhurst Cricket Club

Brokenhurst Cricket Club is located in front of the Balmer Lawn Hotel. The scenic surroundings of our pitch provide a stunning backdrop for cricket matches throughout the summer months. Two Saturday league teams play in Hampshire Regional Divisions against teams from Bournemouth to Southampton. Local rivals include Swan Green, Beaulieu and Burley.

New Forest Safaris and Guided Tours

A short drive from the hotel lies both the Southampton water and The Solent. From the coast there are views over to the Isle of Wight, which hosts even more activities.

There are plenty of opportunities to get on the water, including day and evening cruises running out of the seaside towns. There is also the opportunity to go on fishing cruises.
