Our Staff

The Hotel is owned by the Wilson family whose core objectives are to ensure our team create a warm atmosphere and welcome our guests as part of our family. We take great pride in the recruitment and selection of our new team members and are continually investing in our staff.

The Hotel General Management

The Balmer Lawn is managed on a daily basis by the senior team of Heads of Departments; all experienced and highly motivated individuals whose one aim is to ensure all the staff deliver a truly great experience for our customers. Chris and Alison Wilson are the Proprietors and works closely with Michael Clitheroe, the General Manager. Our aim is to have an efficient and highly professional workforce but not lose the common touch. All of the team are friendly and approachable and are here to make your stay at Balmer Lawn a pleasant and memorable experience, from check in to check out!

Reception Team

Our Reception team, managed by Andrew Foote and assisted by Senior Receptionist Ellena Barnes, will be delighted to welcome you to the Hotel. The team of Maria, Claudia and Lauren will assist you from making your reservation, welcoming you to the Hotel and ensuring your comfort throughout, offering advice on the local area and its attractions.

Bar and Lounge Team

The team is headed by our Food Services Manager Lorenzo Fassio and assisted by Bar Supervisor Peter Hudak. Together with their team, they look forward to sharing their knowledge of our selection of wines, beers and spirits with you along with our recently launched lounge menu.

Restaurant

Beresfords, our AA two rosette restaurant is overseen by Food Services Manager Lorenzo Fassio and Restaurant Manager Aurelien Molliere and their team of dedicated staff.  They are always happy to share their knowledge of our menu which showcases the best of local produce whenever possible, whilst offering a high standard of personal care.

Kitchen

Our Executive Head Chef Chris Wheeldon knows that great service needs to be complemented by great food and his team will ensure that you are not disappointed. Our kitchen team love to showcase the best of local produce as part of their innovative dishes.  The menu reflects seasonal changes and Chef loves to introduce new dishes throughout the year.

Saltus Spa

Our Head Therapist Leanne and her team of Melissa, Holly, Lucy and Maisie use the fine products of renowned brand ESPA in a range of treatments and therapies to ensure your well-being.

Housekeeping

Anita Elsom our Head Housekeeper and her team put in enormous effort to ensure the rooms and public areas of the Hotel are always clean and welcoming.  If you require any additional items in your room, just ask Anita!

Conference and Banqueting Team

With Banqueting and Conference Manager Slavomir Gajdos leading a team of dedicated staff, your special occasions, weddings and conferences will always be a magnificent memory.

Operations Team

Paul MacDonald, our Operations Manager assisted by Duty Manager Hannah Styles are on hand to assist both guests and the team to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Sales Team

Our dedicated sales team is made up of Amandine Desquartiers, our Sales Manager, Ruth Mundy- our Wedding Coordinator, Tiffany Tat our Events Coordinator and Shannon Fisher our Corporate & Conference Coordinator.  The team deals with everything from intimate family/group get together, weddings, birthday’s, fundraising and charity events right through to international corporate events and conferences for up to 170 delegates, plus everything in-between.
