Dining At Balmer Lawn
We’re incredibly proud of our diverse & carefully curated menu at Balmer Lawn. Designed with seasonality and local ingredients in mind, we make it a priority to ensure that our menu is as fresh as it can be - whilst also being flexible.
We receive fresh produce daily, and we endeavour to ensure our dishes are traditional and uncomplicated, whilst also delivering maximum flavour.
We are also more than happy to accommodate specific dietary needs and allergies, offering suitable alternatives wherever possible. If you’re able to advise us at the time of booking we will ensure we have something to suit you and leave you satisfied.

Indulge in culinary excellence at our 2-rosette restaurant, where our enticing menu beckons every evening from 6 pm onwards. Explore a tempting array of starters, sharing bites, main courses, and desserts, topped off with a cheese board that's a visual feast in itself!
The Lodge Restaurant & Bar
Delivering après-ski style decor and warmth, The Lodge Restaurant and Bar is our outdoor covered dining concept. Equipped with outdoor heaters, fluffy blankets and cosy seating to help you relax with your friends and family. Whether you’re looking to warm up after a day’s walking, or you’d simply like to enjoy some delicious cocktails, our floor-to-ceiling windows allow you to soak in the beautiful surrounding views.
In Winter months or the colder evenings we do suggest wearing your best coat and hat as the Lodge can get quite cold.
Sunday Lunch
Sunday lunch remains a New Forest treasure at Balmer Lawn. On a relaxing Sunday afternoon at the Beresford’s Restaurant or The Lodge, you’ll enjoy wholesome, locally sourced, traditional cuisine in the company of our friendly staff, along with some live music - whether that’s courtesy of a pianist or saxophonist. Regularly attracting locals from the surrounding area, our Sunday lunch offering creates a sociable yet peaceful ambience, perfect for family get-togethers.
Private Dining
Looking to host your very own event? Whether you’re planning a business dinner, celebrating a special occasion or dining with friends, you’re welcome to enjoy the privacy of our modern, air-conditioned, bright function rooms.
Indulge in a selection of private dining menus, curated by our very own chef. Suitable for between 10-120 guests, our dining experience can be tailored to your needs, depending on guest numbers.
If you’re joining us in the summer months, why not make the most of our beautiful Sylvan Pavilion? You’ll enjoy stunning views of our surrounding countryside, and enjoy the option of indulging in a BBQ or hog roast (available for larger functions).
Afternoon Tea
Served from 2:30pm until 4:30pm.
Afternoon tea remains a highlight of the Balmer Lawn guest experience. With seasonal, home-made cakes and sweets, ranging from a chocolate and orange gateau opera to passion fruit meringue tartlets, they’re never short on flavour.
