Last month, we had a fantastic time hosting the successful launch of the New Forest edition of Monopoly at our very own Balmer Lawn Hotel.
Dozens of business owners from the local community came together to witness our grand unveiling — many of which featured in the brand-new game!
Events in the New Forest | Who Features in the Game?
The New Forest edition of Monopoly showcases many of our well-known surrounding areas.
Produced by London-based games company Winning Moves UK, the board features businesses and landmarks such as the New Forest National Park, Lymington Quay Side and Sandy Balls.
In total, players can land on over 30 New Forest landmarks and favourites.
Events in the New Forest | About the Occasion
Hosting one of the most talked-about events in the New Forest, we welcomed a variety of renowned guests.
These included none other than the board game’s official mascot, Mr Monopoly! Our distinguished guest arrived in style in a Rolls Royce provided by the National Motor Museum, which also features in the game.
Mr Monopoly chatted and joked with the other attendees, helping to create fun and buzz around the launch of the New Forest’s new favourite board game.
A Message From Our General Manager
Discussing the event, our general manager, Michael Clitheroe, said: “There was so much anticipation for today so it was really nice to see who was on the board and so many independent and collective businesses in the New Forest were represented. And it was absolutely fantastic to be able to host it.
“The invitation came in about a year ago and, like so many people, we did wonder whether it was legitimate. When we realised it was, we organised the pitch an hour later and two hours later we were signed up to organise the launch.
“We wanted to take part in it, we wanted to showcase our lovely business and be part of something that is very memorable.”
